EFNEP promotes good nutrition and physical activity as a means of maintaining a healthy lifestyle free of chronic disease. The program helps adults and their families establish and maintain healthy eating habits and physically active lifestyles.
Dining with Diabetes
Dining with Diabetes (DWD) is a series of fun and interactive classes focused on diabetes management and prevention. The course helps individuals build food skills through cooking demonstrations while learning about carbohydrate counting, portion control, label reading, and meal planning.
Heart Health Series
A healthy diet and lifestyle are key to preventing and managing cardiovascular disease. This series will focus on diet and lifestyle recommendations for lowering cardiovascular disease risk and ways to make them part of your life for long-term benefits to your health and your heart.
Cooking Skills Class
With a primary focus that fosters
at-home cooking for optimal health, culinary medicine is elevating the way evidenced-based food and nutrition information is shared with patients. These cooking classes help people improve their dietary habits by reducing common barriers to cooking including lack of time, limited cooking skills, and low cooking confidence.
General Nutrition Classes
These classes are a great for anyone who doesn't want to make a commitment to a multi-session series. Topics will vary but will generally cover nutrition basics such as healthy eating styles, dietary recommendations, portion control, and label reading. Some classes will be virtual and some will be held in person.
